As health care costs continue to increase, many employers are implementing wellness programs to help employees' adopt or maintain healthy lifestyles. Employers should be aware that improperly designed wellness program can create liability under federal and state laws, such as HIPAA and The Americans with Disabilities Act. This seminar will examine ways to design wellness programs to maximize effectiveness and minimize compliance risks.
Attendees will learn:
- Trends in designing wellness programs.
- Legal issues that must be considered when creating a wellness program.
- Popular wellness initiatives - and variations on them - analyzed under applicable laws.
